April 4, 2009-Hollywood, California, USA-Musician GLENN HUGHES, former bassist of DEEP PURPLE fame rocked the house at the world famous Whisky A Go Go on the Sunset Strip, in Hollywood, California before a packed house of fans and friends. The veteran rocker delivered an electrifying and powerful two hour set filled with funk, soul, rock, and of course, a whole lotta bass. Hughes stood and delivered one great song after another and demonstrated vocals that had the fans screaming. Hughes first played the Whisky A Go Go in 1970 before catapulting to fame in Deep Purple. Hughes, who makes Los Angeles his home, promised the crowd that he would make a point of playing more local gigs in the near future. Joinging Hughes on stage for the encore was CHAD SMITH, drummer for the RED HOT CHILE PEPPERS. The last song of the night was the Deep Purple classic, "Highway Star."
